At the age of 14, you
might say I started my interest in lutherie by making a replacement solid body (
teardrop shaped ) for my cheap jewelry store electric guitar. More crude
examples shortly followed. Five or so years later in 1971, I attempted my first
acoustic guitar following Irving Slone's book, "Classical Guitar
Construction". That guitar was never completed, which is probably a good
thing. I still have the remains of that guitar and keep them as a reminder that
there is no substitute for knowledge, experience and having the correct tools
for the job.
In 1999, after all those years of building
houses, circular staircases, custom cabinetry and furniture, the desire
returned to make fine acoustic guitars and this time with a passion that
I had not experienced with any of my other specialty work.
I currently
offer two models, a Small Jumbo and a Grand Concert size but would also enjoy
working with you to design and build your personalized instrument.
Thanks for visiting.
